Get involved with Mae Murray Foundation and make a difference in your community! Whether you’re passionate about volunteering at our events, providing essential support as a sessional staff member, or you have other experience and skills you want to share…. there’s a role for you.
We are keen to work with individuals, who are passionate about working with people, across various mediums, to help design and implement activity programmes. If you are enthusiastic, love what you do and either have experience of working with differing abilities, or are keen to develop inclusive programmes, we want to hear from you. We welcome volunteers who want to learn new skills or who need to complete a work experience placement in the community.
This volunteer role is for young people aged 16-25. The aim of the ambassador role is to join in with our members at events, be friendly and get involved. Our ambassadors lead by example, respecting other young people, valuing everyone as equal, regardless of perceived physical or learning ability. By taking part together, having fun and learning about one another, we hope to create a more modern society- a generation who see ‘ability’ not disability, friendship not sympathy, positivity not negativity.
If you have experience of working with people of all ages and abilities and have good communication skills, then why not join our team! Working on either a one-to-one or group basis, your role will involve supporting our members, with the personal care assistance they may require, to participate independently at our events.
