The Overs is a group of young adults (age 20-40) who meet regularly to socialise, make friends and take part in various activities. Personal care is provided. Supervision is not provided – if a participant requires supervision, we recommend our family events for now. Our regular meeting location is our Hub in Larne however, we have events in other locations too (eg trips to Belfast Giants, concerts etc). Registration is essential.

Our Overs project is for individuals between the age of 20-40. We want to provide a safe space for adult members to take part and make friends.
The purpose of our Overs Project is for young adults to connect with each other, make friends and grow in their independence.
We at the Mae Murray Foundation create a care plan with you to see if the Overs Project is a suitable programme for you to join!
Mae Murray Foundation run lots of family events throughout the year some of these include: Music and dance workshops which are held at The Music Yard (in person and online), family fun days and beach events and much more!
You can book these events through our website! If you want anymore information on these events get in touch at: info@maemurrayfoundation.org
It is free and easy to become a member! Simply go onto our website: https://www.maemurrayfoundation.org at the very top you will see the option ‘become a member.’ Once you fill out one of the forms, please email Claire on claire@maemurrayfoundation.org to register your interest for the Overs Project!
Once you register your interest we will create a care plan so we can best support you! This is the opportunity for you tell us all about YOU! If you have a medical, feeding or lifting and handling need, we need to connect to other professionals – this process can take 3-4weeks.
The Overs is free!
If it is the first time taking part in The Overs, you must contact Claire at claire@maemurrayfoundation.org to complete the nescessary documentation. Once this is completed, you can book to come to an Overs event via our website. We also send newsletters out via email which will give you any upcoming dates for the Overs events.
Yes, siblings are welcome! We need you to book an additional space for them after we complete the necessary participation form. If you want to bring a friend along to the Hubs, that is no problem. However at some events our capacity is limited eg Belfast Giants – but ask us and we will check if it’s possible!
This project is for young adults who do not require supervision and all members are in charge of their own decision making. Your safety and the safety of our staff and our members is our top concern. We kindly encourage you to be aware of your own limits. We may recommend that you think about your limits and if staff or volunteers are at risk we may ask you to stop drinking. Please note, MMF will not purchase any alcohol for members, you must use your own money for this.
We have our monthly hubs in Larne where we do a wide range of activities! We also have regular outings which includes Giants matches, concerts, special events.
If you need to leave an event early, kindly inform one of our staff members so we are aware. Your safety is our top priority.
We have an incredible staff and volunteer team who are experienced and have received training to ensure that we provide the best possible personal care to our members where required.
Currently we have one area where we run our Overs hub! We also do a wide range of outings which can be anywhere in Northern Ireland.
Members across Northern Ireland are welcome to travel to these venues/events.
MMF cannot provide transport but if transport is a barrier, please let us know and we will try and help.
Please follow our code of behaviour when participating in or attending an Mae Murray event!
